Back Pain Recovery Journey

Welcome to Back Pain Recovery with Healthy Living

As long time member of the back pain club, I have been researching on how to heal myself and how to get my life back from this “curse”. In 2017 I was diagnosed with L5-S1 disc herniation and my life turned miserable. Since then I have been experimenting with a few different healing methods namely Chiropractic, Physio Therapy, Massage, Acupuncture, PT, Aqua Aerobic, Yoga, Pilates and Osteopath. Yes I have been through it all. Those suffering from sciatic pain understand how this condition can consume the individual to such an extent that some people just break down and give up. I was one of those individual. Shortly after my first diagnosis, I gained a lot of weight due to inactivity and that made my condition even worse.

During the early stages, I would feel like water flowing down from my right hips down to my second and third toes. I would be paralyzed on bed, and would spend most of the time on bed. Walking was painful, Sleeping was painful, Getting out of bed was a mission in itself…Life was Hell. At first, I was in a mixture of denial and wishful thinking hoping that tomorrow is going to be better…however nothing changed, at least not for the best. After a few months of getting from worse to bad then worse again, I finally decided to make some research on the subject and decided to see a chiropractor.

I have mixed feelings about Chiropractors. From 2017 to I am still in the process of getting better however I can now do 99% of what I wish I could do. I go to the gym regularly

have come up with a comprehensive treatment plan that has worked for me. Before moving on, I would like to mention that in no way I am to be responsible for any of the exercises and treatments mentioned on my blog. This is my own journey and treatment is usually on individual basis. However I believe that you can find lots of useful information here on how you can get better soon. I strongly advise you to consult your GP before embarking on a treatment plan.

In 2019 I had another MRI which showed no significant progress from the last one I did in 2017. Meanwhile I had put on a lot of weight due to stress, anxiety, depression and inactivity due to injury. Inconsistency is the number one factor that will pull you from achieving results. A few elements contributed to me becoming inconsistent, mainly;

. Consistent pain, or temporary relief only.

. Financially having to pay for more & more chiropractic sessions.*

. Stress, Anxiety, Depression, The feeling that its never going to be ok. (Junk thinking).
